About this list
A Koh Phangan family villa on this page is a private pool villa with three or more en-suite bedrooms or separate sleeping zones, so parents are not queuing for one bathroom with a whole group. The data covers bathrooms, pool length, the walk to the beach and the drive to Thong Sala. It does not cover pool fences, cots or high chairs, so those are questions for the owner before you pay a deposit.
What the filter means for parents
An en-suite bedroom means a child waking at night walks to a bathroom attached to the room, not along a corridor or across a terrace. A separate sleeping zone is a sleeping area set apart from the others, which can suit a baby who naps during the day or teenagers who go to bed late.
The villas on this list show how different the layouts are. Palm Stone has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and four en-suite rooms, and sleeps up to 8; its primary suite is in a second, smaller building, with another bedroom one floor below. Beachfront Villa Hin Kong sleeps 10 in five bedrooms, but only three are en suite, so at least two bedrooms have no bathroom of their own.
Secret Beach Villa has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and three en-suite rooms, and sleeps 12. Its agency listing (Villa 4724 on VillaGetaways) describes a family suite of connecting bedrooms that share one en-suite bathroom, and a one-bedroom villa whose separate living room converts to a second bedroom for kids.
Pool facts in the data
Each villa on this list has a private pool. Several are infinity pools, and Shades of Blue has a saltwater pool with a salt system filter. Pool length is published for only some villas: Secret Beach Villa’s pool is 12 m by 3 m, Baan Ya Kha’s is 13 m and Narivana’s is 15 m. Depth and shallow areas are not published in the catalogue data, although the i-escape listing for Narivana lists a paddling pool.
Fences are the gap that matters most. The Villanovo rental conditions for Shades of Blue say children must be supervised by an adult at all times at the pool, there is no safety fence and there is no swimming guard. The i-escape listing for Narivana also calls its pool unfenced on a steep hillside. Palm Stone’s own FAQ says the terrain is mountain-side, steep and rocky, with an open pool, so children must be supervised at all times. For any other villa, silence in a listing is not a sign that a fence exists.
Beach walk and the drive to Thong Sala
The walk to the beach varies from 1 minute to 31 minutes across the list. By our routing, Palm Stone is 3 minutes from the beach on foot and 5 minutes by car from Thong Sala, but its location in the catalogue data is approximate and the owner says the villa is a 20-minute drive from Thongsala Pier. Beachfront Villa Hin Kong is 1 minute on foot from the beach. Our routing gives 9 minutes by car to Thong Sala, while the Island Keys listing says 4 minutes, so ask your host which route they count.
Secret Beach Villa is 1 minute from the beach, which its agency describes as lying in an enclosed bay with calm water. It is 17 minutes by car from Thong Sala, and the track to the gate is unpaved. Shades of Blue is 22 minutes on foot from the beach and 15 minutes by car from Thong Sala, also with an unpaved approach; the Villanovo listing gives 1 km to the sea shore. InnSpire has the longest walk on the list, 31 minutes to the beach, is 15 minutes by car from Thong Sala and also has an unpaved approach. Narivana is 27 minutes from Thong Sala by our routing, while the i-escape listing says 20 minutes by road from the port.
With small children, a long walk usually becomes a drive. As of 4 October 2026, Wikivoyage’s island guide notes that outside Thong Sala most roads have no pavement and walking along them can be dangerous. The same guide lists Tesco-Lotus in Thong Sala, open 10:00 to 22:00, as the island’s biggest supermarket, so factor in the drive for nappies, milk and groceries.
What to ask the owner before booking
Send these questions in writing and keep the answers:
- Is the pool fenced or gated, and is there a shallow area?
- Are cots, high chairs, stair gates and bed rails available, and are they free?
- Which bedrooms are en suite, and which share a bathroom?
- Is the steep or unpaved approach to the gate suitable for a pushchair or a night arrival?
- Can the host arrange babysitting, and at what price?
Among the listings cited on this page, three mention baby equipment. The Secret Beach Villa agency includes a baby pack (baby monitor, high chair, baby cot, steriliser and baby tub) in the rate, with babysitting as a paid service, as listed on 4 October 2026. Narivana’s i-escape listing offers a baby cot but no extra beds, and InnSpire’s own site says a baby cot can be arranged on request, with no extra beds.
How to read the points
Each villa is scored with the same criteria described in the methodology. A field that is not published scores 0, so a villa with gaps shows a lower bound and a higher figure that assumes full points for each missing item. Each villa’s profile in the catalogue shows which fields are empty.
Pool fences and baby equipment are not part of the catalogue data described above, so the order does not tell you how child-ready a villa is. A villa high on the list can still have an unfenced pool, and one lower down may include a full baby pack. For beaches and health basics, see Koh Phangan with kids; for the west coast around Srithanu, see Srithanu on the west coast. If your party is larger than a family, the villas for groups ranking applies other filters.
Sources and checks
Villa data, owner and agency listings and the Wikivoyage guide were read on 4 October 2026, and walking and driving times are our routed estimates from the catalogue data. Pool fences, cots and high chairs are not published for most villas on this list, so ask the owner or the agency directly.
